Hi! ¡Hola! Cześć! Sziasztok!
My name is Cristóbal and I am 30 years old. I live in Santiago, Chile and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History and I am currently working at a local museum and I am doing a Masters in Cultural Heritage. Despite that, I’ve been always interested in languages and I would probably have no problems to do a career switch and use my language knowledge. I started learning English at school, but after living in the U.S. for a year, I managed to become fluent and be interested in foreign languages and cultures. I even did one year of English philology which wasn’t what I expected, but I still managed to be in connection with languages. I’ve learned French, German and Italian, and now I am fully dedicated to learn Polish, with the help of regular classes and other methods such as online tandems or listening to music and watching films/series. Now, I am decided to learn some Hungarian as well, up to the point I can carry out small talk in the language. If I had more time, I would learn more languages, as well. I intend to relocate abroad soon, so learning languages is one way I could achieve this goal easily. I also have some experience with teaching my language to foreigners, being a guide around different parts of my city and Spanish-English/English-Spanish translations, so do not hesitate to contact me in case you need any of those things (you may also click the “Contact” tab).
On this blog, you’ll find different aspects of language learning in a broad sense. Not only you learn a language, you learn a culture, in my opinion. Despite most of the posts will be devoted to Polish language learning, that does not mean I will not talk about other languages and cultures, including my own. I may also include some History and of course, traveling.
